Christina Pollock Anderson, a 67-year-old woman of German descent, tragically passed away on February 9, 2017, in Wimberley, Texas. She was born on January 11, 1950, in Waltham, Massachusetts, and spent much of her youth in Germany. Anderson moved to Texas in the 1980s and worked in the Clear Creek Independent School District until her retirement in 2013.
She later moved to Wimberley in 2015.
On the day of her death, Anderson called 911 to report her husband, Jimmy Lee Rhodes, acting "out of control" with firearms. Unfortunately, the call was disconnected, and deputies arrived at the couple's home in the Woodcreek North subdivision to find Anderson deceased with a gunshot wound to the head. Rhodes, who was 68 years old, surrendered peacefully to deputies and confessed to shooting his wife. He was subsequently charged with murder and held in the Hays County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
The investigation revealed that Rhodes had been exhibiting erratic behavior, and Anderson had reached out for help before her death. Neighbors described the couple as generally keeping to themselves but appearing happy when seen walking their dog.
