Brandon Paul Lancelin, a 31-year-old Army veteran, was fatally shot on the early morning of February 17, 2017, at the Erotic City nightclub in southeast Houston. Witnesses reported that the club manager, Milton Carlos Segura, shot Lancelin in the restroom after the club had closed. Segura was allegedly jealous that his girlfriend, Priscilla Ashley Castellano, a club employee, was paying a lot of attention to Lancelin. After the shooting, Castellano helped clean up the crime scene, while another employee, Eleazar Leon, assisted in placing Lancelin's body in his red Ford Explorer and setting the vehicle on fire in La Marque, about 24 miles away.

The Houston Police Department investigated the crime and questioned Segura, who later issued a statement about the shooting. In August 2021, Segura pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Castellano and Leon also pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence; Castellano received a three-year prison sentence, while Leon was sentenced to eight years of deferred adjudication probation. The Harris County District Attorney's Office stated that these convictions brought justice to Lancelin's family and hoped it would provide closure.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lisa Calligan of the Major Offenders Division, and the investigation was led by the Houston Police Department. The trio's actions were described as an impulsive crime, but law enforcement officials commended their efforts in piecing together the events and securing charges against those responsible.
