Jonathan Gonzalez, a 22-year-old man from Willis, Texas, was tragically gunned down on February 26, 2017, while working as a contracted custodian at Piney Shores Resort on Lake Conroe. The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. when his co-worker, Devin Najel Harris, allegedly walked up to him and shot him multiple times. Jonathan was with a friend on a golf cart at the resort when the shooting happened, and his friend managed to escape unharmed.
Unfortunately, Jonathan did not survive the attack and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into Jonathan's death revealed that Harris was charged with first-degree murder. Harris was arrested on the day of the shooting and remained in Montgomery County Jail until his sentencing. In June 2018, Harris was sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to the murder.
