Stephanie "Tigger" Lynn Adelaide Woodford, a 34-year-old woman from San Antonio, TX, tragically lost her life on March 18, 2017, due to a random act of violence. She was born on April 2, 1982, and was known for her vibrant personality and kind heart.
The incident occurred in the 4900 block of Teasdale Drive on the Northeast Side of San Antonio. Stephanie was confronted by Montrail "Tre" Thomas Butler, a 21-year-old man, in the backyard of the home where Butler was staying.
The two had a history of not getting along, and the confrontation escalated quickly. After arguing, Stephanie went to smoke a cigarette in the front yard while Butler went inside the home. Butler then emerged from the house with a pistol in his hand and fatally shot Stephanie in the head.
Following the shooting, Butler turned his attention to another woman in the house, pistol-whipping her before she managed to escape and seek medical help. Butler was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with first-degree murder. The case went to trial, and in February 2019, Butler was convicted of murder. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison in May 2020.
