On April 14, 2017, 15-year-old Nakyia Stevens, a male of African American ethnicity from Fort Worth, Texas, was fatally shot in the head during a fight that erupted at a party in east Fort Worth. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of Oakland Boulevard. Stevens was found unconscious with a bullet wound to the head when first responders arrived and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:12 a.m.
