Mark Anthony Saldivar, a 23-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on April 23, 2017, in San Antonio, Texas. He was found dead in the parking lot of a Chick-Fil-A located at 27 Northeast Loop 410. According to police reports, Saldivar had been arguing with the occupants of a dark-colored sedan that pulled into the parking lot. The situation escalated when Saldivar jumped onto the hood of the vehicle and kicked in the windshield.
One of the suspects inside the vehicle then leaned out and shot Saldivar, who subsequently fell to the ground and succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into Saldivar's death led to the arrest of Taymor Travon McIntyre, also known as rapper Tay-K 47. McIntyre, who was 16 years old at the time of the shooting, was charged with capital murder. He was accused of shooting Saldivar during a robbery, and it was alleged that Saldivar was forced out of the vehicle before being shot. McIntyre fled the scene but was later captured in New Jersey and extradited to Bexar County to face charges.
In addition to McIntyre, two other individuals were implicated in the crime. The wrongful death lawsuit filed by Saldivar's mother, Lucia "Lucy" Saldivar, named McIntyre as the triggerman and alleged that Saldivar was robbed of his expensive camera equipment before being forced out of the vehicle. The lawsuit further stated that Saldivar attempted to stop the trio from escaping by jumping onto the hood of the vehicle, which ultimately led to his tragic death.
The case garnered significant media attention, particularly due to McIntyre's status as a rising rapper. He had released a music video for his song "The Race," in which he posed in front of his own wanted poster while on the run. Despite his attempts to evade capture, McIntyre was eventually apprehended and faced trial for the murder of Mark Saldivar.
