On June 4, 2017, 16-year-old Cary Griffith was tragically shot and killed in Houston, Texas. Griffith, a young male of African American ethnicity, was walking with two friends at the intersection of Lorne and Hollow Pine Drive when an altercation occurred. The incident began when Griffith exchanged words with Tyrin Robertson, a 21-year-old man who then pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at the group before fleeing the scene in a blue Dodge Avenger.
