Vernon Williams Sr., a 51-year-old man from Littlefield, Texas, tragically died on September 18, 2017. was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to Littlefield Police Chief Ross Hester, Silvas and Williams had some sort of relationship, though the exact nature of their connection was still under investigation. Two other individuals were detained for questioning but were later released. The Texas Rangers assisted local officers in the ongoing investigation.
Williams' father, Robert Clyde Williams, speculated that road rage might have played a role in his son's death. He described Vernon as a hard-working and talented individual who did various jobs, including working at Pizza Hut, carpentry, and painting.
