On March 1, 2018, Tristian Duthie Hutchins, an 8-year-old boy from Houston, Texas, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting. Tristian and his 5-year-old sister, Kheristian, were sitting in their mother's car outside a nail salon in the Third Ward when multiple shots were fired at the vehicle. Tristian was shot in the head, and despite being on life support for weeks, he passed away on March 28, 2018. His sister was shot in the leg but survived and was later released from the hospital.
