On June 11, 2023, in southeast Houston, a longstanding dispute between neighbors culminated in tragedy when 39-year-old Jaime Leonel Hernandez was fatally shot. The alleged shooter, 79-year-old former Harris County Precinct 2 deputy, Frankie Luke Vernagallo, was arrested and charged with murder following the incident.
