The beloved son and brother died from the fatal wound, leaving his community in shock and his family engulfed in grief, especially just a day before Christmas Eve.

A witness at the scene reported seeing a young Black male, estimated to be between the ages of 16 and 19, fleeing the area around the time of the shooting. The individual was described as having a low haircut and wearing a dark, 'puffy' coat. Despite this description, authorities have been unable to identify or apprehend the person responsible for Brian Siler's death.
In the years following the tragic event, the case has remained cold. No arrests have been made, and a motive for the shooting has never been established. The family of Brian Siler has made public pleas for any information that could lead to a breakthrough in the investigation.
