On the evening of December 23, 2012, tragedy struck in St. Louis, Missouri, forever altering the lives of the Siler family. Brian James Siler, a 36-year-old Caucasian male, was out walking his dog in the 3100 block of Chippewa Street at approximately 7:25 p.m. In an act of sudden violence, Siler was shot in the back of the head and was later found lying face down on the sidewalk.
