In the early hours of a Tuesday in late May, the sounds of gunfire followed by a car crash broke the morning calm in the Walnut Park West neighborhood of St. Louis. Residents near the intersection of Lillian and Woodstock Avenues were disturbed by the incident that unfolded around 2:50 a.m. on May 27, 2025. When police arrived at the scene, they found a sedan that had been wrecked, and inside, two men were discovered with gunshot wounds.
One of the men was identified as Donovan Whitt, a
37-year-old male from the nearby community of Breckenridge Hills, Missouri. The other victim was 24-year-old Shiquan Washington, a resident of St. Louis City. Both men were rushed to a hospital, but their injuries proved to be fatal, and they were pronounced dead.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Division is handling the ongoing investigation into what they have classified as a double homicide. At this time, details about what led to the shooting remain unclear, and no information regarding any suspects or arrests has been released to the public.
