In the spring of 2017, the life of 33-year-old Charles Ross, a male resident of St. Louis, Missouri, was cut short in a burst of violence. On the evening of May 6th, Ross was in the 5000 block of Kensington Avenue in the city's Kingsway West neighborhood when a vehicle approached. Shots rang out from the car in a drive-by shooting, striking Ross multiple times in the chest.
First responders rushed to the scene to find him gravely wounded.
He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but the severity of his injuries proved to be too great. Shortly after his arrival, Charles Ross succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
In the days that followed, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Division took charge of the investigation into Ross's death.
