On a cold night in mid-January 2013, a violent incident unfolded in the streets of south St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of a young man. Around midnight, law enforcement officers responded to a distress call reporting a shooting in the 4000 block of South Grand Boulevard. Upon arrival, police discovered 24-year-old Allante Jamal Edmondson, a male, lying in the middle of the street. He was suffering from a severe gunshot wound to the stomach.
Emergency personnel attended to the victim, but the injuries proved fatal. Edmondson died shortly after being found, with his death officially recorded on January 17, 2013. Following the homicide, his family held services at The Rhema Church in St. Louis, where a visitation and funeral were conducted later that month to mourn his sudden passing.
