Isaiah Starry, a 13-year-old boy from Robstown, Texas, tragically lost his life on July 27, 2018. Isaiah was a student at Calallen Middle School and an active member of Boy Scout Troop 65. He was known for his helpful nature and volunteered at the Retama Manor Nursing Center, where his grandparents lived. On the day of his death, Isaiah and his father were shot in their home by Isaiah's uncle, Richard Starry. Richard Starry also shot and killed Isaiah's grandmother at the nursing home before turning the gun on himself.
The Robstown Police Department, along with the Nueces County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers, conducted an investigation into the shootings. The motive behind the shootings remains unknown. Richard Starry, the suspected shooter, had a history of legal issues, including an arrest in February 2017 for an outstanding warrant out of Bee County for theft of property.
