Donald Jenkins, a 47-year-old man from Fort Worth, Texas, was tragically found shot to death on August 2, 2018, inside the home of Juan Alfredo Alvarez, who was renting the property to Jenkins and his partner, Cheryl Trimmier, aged 52. The couple was discovered deceased in the 7000 block of Wildbriar Court East on Fort Worth's east side.
Juan Alfredo Alvarez, aged 33 at the time, was later arrested and charged with the murders.
In August 2022, Alvarez pleaded guilty to the murders of Jenkins and Trimmier. He was sentenced to two concurrent 65-year prison terms, with a requirement to serve at least 30 years before becoming eligible for parole.
The case drew significant attention due to the senseless nature of the crime and the impact on the victims' families. Cheryl Trimmier's sister, Jackie Fabre, expressed deep sorrow and anger during the court proceedings, highlighting Cheryl's kind-hearted nature and the devastating loss felt by her loved ones.
