On June 5, 2023, 61-year-old John William Hicks was found deceased in his apartment at the Cortland Chisholm Trail Apartments in southwest Fort Worth, Texas. A family member discovered Hicks with multiple gunshot wounds and contacted authorities. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Hicks died from these injuries.

Following an investigation, Fort Worth police arrested Hicks' 25-year-old son, Trevor Hicks, on June 16, 2023. Trevor was charged with murder in connect ...
