On September 5, 2018, 40-year-old Yaunde Hurd, an African American male, was fatally shot in Balch Springs, Texas. Authorities identified his girlfriend, Don-nika Wilburn, also 40, as the perpetrator. Following the incident, Wilburn was arrested and charged with murder. Yaunde is survived by his 16-year-old son and an adult daughter.
