On January 27, 2019, 15-year-old Makaila Simon was tragically shot and killed by her 17-year-old boyfriend, Javon Martin, in Spring, Texas. The incident occurred at Martin's home, where he was allegedly playing with a rifle when it accidentally discharged, striking Simon in the chest.
