Priscilla Davila, a 32-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost her life on March 7, 2019, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a victim of domestic violence, having endured years of abuse at the hands of her live-in boyfriend, Larry Darnell Moore. The fatal incident occurred at an apartment complex on Antelope Street, where Priscilla and her neighbor, Sonia Quintanilla Trejo, were shot and killed.
Larry Moore, who was 41 years old at the time, was taken into custody by Corpus Christi police officers who responded to the scene. According to police reports, Moore admitted to shooting Priscilla during a physical altercation that escalated when she sought refuge in a neighbor's apartment. The officers were able to apprehend Moore without firing their weapons.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Priscilla's brother, Juan Davila, created a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses and support Priscilla's two children, aged 12 and 9. The page also aimed to raise awareness about domestic violence and encourage victims to seek help before it's too late.
Larry Moore was charged with two counts of capital murder and two counts of attempted capital murder. In May 2021, he pled guilty to all charges and received a life sentence for the murders of Priscilla Davila and Sonia Quintanilla-Trejo. Additionally, he was sentenced to 50 years in prison for attempting to murder two Corpus Christi police officers who responded to the incident.
