On April 29, 2019, Marcus Demond Elam, a 39-year-old man from Silsbee, Texas, was fatally shot on South 1st Street in Silsbee. Responding officers and Crossroads EMS performed lifesaving measures at the scene, but Elam was later pronounced dead at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Following the incident, Silsbee Police identified Reginald Carvin Kyles, 63, of Silsbee, as the suspect. Kyles was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Elam's death. He was taken into c ...
