In the afternoon hours of a cold February day in St. Louis, 39-year-old Alando Scott, a Black male, became the victim of a fatal shooting. On February 3, 2014, at approximately 3:00 p.m., he was discovered with gunshot wounds to his head in the vicinity of Alaska and Primm. The location of the shooting was believed to be in the 7800 block of Goya. When police arrived, they found Scott lying outside his vehicle with the driver's side door still open; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the homicide pointed to a possible suspect, described by witnesses as a thin Black male, standing about 5'9' and weighing between 130 and 140 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a long black pea coat and a black skullcap at the time of the incident. Authorities also received information about a potential suspect vehicle, a newer model two-door black Nissan Altima or Acura, that may have been involved in the crime.
In the years following the shooting, the case of Alando Scott's murder has remained unsolved. Desperate for answers and justice, his family took measures to encourage anyone with information to come forward. They raised money to supplement the reward offered by CrimeStoppers, hoping that the increased sum would provide an incentive for witnesses to share what they know and help lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death. Despite these efforts and the available suspect description, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the case.
