Kimberly Danielle Wallace-Medford, a 39-year-old woman from Longview, Texas, tragically lost her life on July 28, 2019. She was found dead in her driveway with gunshot wounds early Sunday morning after the Longview Police Department responded to a welfare check. Wallace was in an on-again, off-again abusive relationship with her child's father, Kenneth Earl Thomas Jr.
Her family revealed that she had been trying to leave the relationship but was afraid to reach out for help due to threats from Thomas.
On the day of her death, Wallace had expressed her exhaustion and fear to a friend, stating that she couldn't handle the situation anymore. Her family believes that Thomas, who had a history of criminal behavior, was determined to be a part of her life despite her attempts to distance herself from him. Following her death, Thomas was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was later sentenced to life in prison for the crime.
Wallace's family has been vocal about seeking justice for her and raising awareness about domestic violence. They hope that sharing Kimberly's story will help others in similar situations find the courage to seek help and prevent such tragedies from happening again.
