On August 5, 2019, ZaVhon Brown, a 15-year-old boy from Converse, Texas, tragically died after being shot in the face with an AR-15 rifle. The incident occurred in the early morning hours at a home in the 7500 block of Gander Park. ZaVhon was rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The Converse Police Department identified Robert Rene Amaya, a 21-year-old acquaintance of ZaVhon, as the suspect in the shooting ...
