On September 15, 2019, Mickell Rhodes, a 20-year-old man from Baytown, Texas, was tragically shot and killed at the Briarwood Apartments. Rhodes was walking to a friend's apartment with two other men when he got into an argument with 18-year-old Ellery Jackson over a handgun. During the heated exchange, Jackson pulled out the gun and shot Rhodes multiple times before fleeing the scene.
