Emmet Infante, a 17-year-old male student at East Austin College Prep, was tragically shot and killed on October 13, 2019, in Austin, Texas. The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Fiesta Street, near Lyons Road. Infante was found with a gunshot wound to his lower left torso and was later pronounced dead at Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas.

The shooting was the result of a drug deal gone wrong. Infante was selling THC vaping cartridges when he was confronted by two individuals, later identified as Reginald Williams and Elijah Malone. According to Infante's girlfriend, who was present at the scene, Infante had sent photos and videos of the cartridges to the suspects via text message. When Infante attempted to get back into the car, he was pulled back and subsequently shot.

Following the incident, police launched an investigation and identified Williams and Malone as the primary suspects. Both men were arrested and charged with murder. Williams was booked on October 15, 2019, and Malone on October 17, 2019. During the investigation, police found THC vaping cartridges at both suspects' residences, linking them to the crime.

The case went to trial, and in August 2022, a Travis County jury found Reginald Williams guilty of murder. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Elijah Malone, who had pleaded guilty to the charges, received an 18-year prison sentence.

The tragic death of Emmet Infante has deeply affected his family, friends, and the East Austin College Prep community. Infante was remembered as a hard-working and well-liked student who was involved in sports and extracurricular activities. His family continues to seek closure and justice for his untimely death.
