Mikel Phillips, a 15-year-old African American male, was tragically found dead on November 8, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. His body was discovered on the basketball court of Robert L. Thornton Elementary School. The initial investigation revealed that Mikel had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 8 p.m. the previous night.
