David Thomas Young, a 50-year-old man from Odessa, Texas, tragically passed away on November 29, 2019. David was born on August 22, 1969, in El Paso, Texas, and spent most of his life in Odessa. He was a dedicated employee of Frito Lay for 30 years, earning multiple awards for his outstanding work. David was known for his strong family values and was deeply loved by his wife, Sheri, and their children.
David's death was the result of a road rage incident.
He was shot by William "Cliff" Goble, a former Midland College professor, in the driveway of his home on Spur Avenue. The incident occurred after a dispute over a traffic incident, and David was found with a single gunshot wound. He was transported to Medical Center Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, William Goble was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. The case went to trial, and in July 2021, Goble was found guilty and sentenced to 38 years in prison for the murder of David Young. The sentencing brought some closure to David's family, who had been deeply affected by the loss of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
