The incident occurred at a party held at his girlfriend's home while her parents were out of town. According to reports, a heated argument broke out between Alex and his girlfriend's 14-year-old brother, who then grabbed a shotgun and shot Alex in the chest. The single shot also injured Alex's girlfriend's sister in the neck.
