On January 21, 2024, 24-year-old Ellesha Rice was tragically killed during a shooting at a short-term rental home in Katy, Texas. The incident occurred during a birthday celebration for one of the victims, 24-year-old Michael Odobo. Rice attended the party with her fiancé, Nicholas King, also 24, who was among the three fatalities that night.
