Amilleon Kalaan Jackson, an 18-year-old male of Texarkana, Texas, tragically died on December 22, 2019. Known affectionately as "AJ" to his friends and family, Amilleon was born on December 14, 2001, and was working towards his GED while employed at Take 5 Oil Change. He was also an aspiring rap artist, known as "Lil’ Ace," and enjoyed working on cars with his father. Amilleon was described as wise beyond his years and was very family-oriented.

The circumstances surrounding Amilleon's death were grim. He was shot and killed during an alleged robbery. According to reports, Christopher Cross, then 20 years old, and a 15-year-old juvenile planned to rob Amilleon after arranging to meet him at the Riverbend Apartments to purchase marijuana. When Amilleon realized the intent to rob him, he attempted to flee, but the juvenile shooter fired five shots, hitting him in the back. Amilleon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, both Christopher Cross and the juvenile were arrested and charged with capital murder. Cross was held in the Bowie County jail with bail set at $1 million, while the juvenile was held in a juvenile detention facility. The case drew significant attention, and the legal proceedings involved multiple litigations and investigations. In March 2021, the juvenile shooter pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Christopher Cross later pleaded guilty to murder and received a 20-year prison sentence in March 2022.

The loss of Amilleon Kalaan Jackson deeply affected his family and community. He was remembered as a bright, loving young man who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His mother, Heather Humes, and his father, Rodney "Bo" Jackson, along with his siblings and girlfriend, Serenity Danner, mourned his passing. A memorial service was held to honor his memory, attended by many who loved him.

Amilleon's death remains a poignant reminder of the impact of violence and the importance of community and family support in times of tragedy.
