Guillermo "Willie" Garcia, a 41-year-old man of Hispanic ethnicity from Harlingen, Texas, tragically died on February 6, 2020. His death was the result of a gunshot wound to the chest, and his body was discovered inside a parked car on the 3300 block of Adams Landing in Harlingen. The investigation into his death led to the arrest of Anthony Eliff III, who was Garcia's former roommate.
Eliff was charged with Garcia's murder the following day.
The case against Eliff revealed that the fatal shooting occurred over a dispute about a parking spot at their residence. Eliff's trial began years later, and in October 2023, he was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 75 years in prison. Additionally, Eliff received a concurrent 20-year sentence for unlawful possession of a firearm. Eliff is also facing charges in a separate case involving the murder of Elyn Loera, a 32-year-old woman from Corpus Christi who went missing in October 2019 and whose remains were found in February 2020.
