On the afternoon of November 11, 2014, a violent incident unfolded in the 4800 block of LeDuc Street near Marcus Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. Jermaine A. Gross, a 31-year-old Black male, was seated inside a parked vehicle along with two acquaintances. It was Veterans Day, and the group was gathered in the car shortly before 4:00 p.m. when an unknown individual approached the vehicle.
