On June 1, 2020, Daniel Ramirez, a 33-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, was found shot multiple times in the parking lot of a motel in the 2100 block of SW Loop 410. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The investigation into his death revealed that a phone number on Ramirez's cell phone led police to Jacob Riley Embrey, a 24-year-old man, as the prime suspect.
