On July 6, 2020, Daquan Baskin, a 19-year-old male from Arlington, Texas, was tragically shot and killed in the parking lot of the Shax Convenient Store in Everman, Texas, which is about 11 miles south of Fort Worth. Baskin was driving a vehicle with three passengers when one of the backseat passengers fired a round from a pistol through the backseat, striking Baskin in the back. Despite immediate efforts to help him, Baskin was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
