The crime was committed by a group of individuals, some of whom were known to Jasmine.
The investigation led to the arrest of seven suspects, including
Natalie Carrington, Alissa Weese, Johntavion Sounders, Kyle Phillips, Dorian Murphree, J'Mariah Pope-Williams, and Aaron Jackson. Initially, all were charged with capital murder. However, over time, the charges were reduced for some of the suspects. Natalie Carrington, who was 17 at the time of the crime, accepted a plea deal for aggravated robbery and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Kyle Phillips received a 30-year sentence, Johntavion Sounders got 20 years, Aaron Jackson received 8 years, and J'Mariah Pope-Williams was sentenced to 5 years. Dorian Murphree's charges were dismissed.
