Adam Valencia, a 25-year-old man from Houston, Texas, tragically lost his life on July 18, 2020. He was shot outside a convenience store located at 8900 South Braeswood Boulevard. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The incident occurred around 7:50 p.m., and initially, there was no known suspect or motive.
Following an investigation by the Houston Police Department, Jayson Darell King, a 34-year-old man, was identified as the suspect.
King was arrested on July 23, 2020, without incident and was subsequently charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. The case was handled by HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Naughton and L. Patterson.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and further details about the circumstances leading to the incident have not been disclosed. The community continues to mourn the loss of Adam Valencia, whose life was cut short far too soon.
