DeVonte Antrel Purdue, a 23-year-old African American man from Houston, Texas, tragically lost his life on August 13, 2020. Purdue was fatally shot in the neck by Darius Handsborough, a 29-year-old man, and an unidentified accomplice, who broke into Purdue's apartment at the Circle at Point Park Apartments near Copperfield. The suspects believed Purdue had marijuana they could steal, but no evidence was found to support this claim.
