On September 13, 2020, Nicolas Kapone Chapa, a 19-year-old male, was found unresponsive and lying in the street at 6600 North Wayside Drive in northeast Houston, Texas. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspects fled the scene in a dark SUV.
Following the incident, an extensive investigation was launched by the Houston Police Department.
On December 8, 2020, a juvenile female, aged 17, was taken into custody without incident and referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a capital murder charge. Further investigation led to the arrest of Jamerion Nervis, a 19-year-old male, and a juvenile male, aged 15, both charged with capital murder. They were arrested without incident on September 10, 2021.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities continue to seek additional suspects who may have been involved in the crime. The community is urged to come forward with any information that could aid in the ongoing investigation.
