Francisco Nava Hernandez, a 48-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on September 14, 2020, in Houston, Texas. He was fatally shot in the parking lot of a strip center located at 9789 Beechnut Street. According to witnesses and evidence collected at the scene, Hernandez had gotten into an argument with two suspects while sitting in his vehicle. The suspects were described as two black males, believed to be between the ages of 17 and 20. The investigation led to the arrest of 17-year-old Amarion Bailey, who was charged with murder in connection with Hernandez's death. Bailey was arrested on September 24, 2020, by the HPD Westside Patrol Division - Crime Suppression Team for felony evading arrest and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Homicide investigators questioned him about his involvement in the shooting, and he was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
The case was handled by HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Hollohazy and Detectives C. Lamont and L. Lange. Bailey was charged in the 232nd State District Court for his involvement in the fatal shooting.
