Angie Crystal Saucedo, a 19-year-old Hispanic female, was found dead in her College Station apartment on October 6, 2020. Her death was discovered by her roommate after Angie's mother expressed concern over not being able to reach her. The roommate found Angie deceased in her room, prompting a call to the police. Angie had been in a relationship with Cristian Gonzalez, a 24-year-old Hispanic male from Lewisville, Texas, for about six months.
Gonzalez was the last person known to have visited Angie before her death.
Upon investigation, authorities discovered that Gonzalez had stopped at a Walmart in Bryan, Texas, on his way back to Lewisville. Surveillance footage showed him disposing of several items in a trash can, including Angie's phone, paper towels, and latex gloves. These items were later found to contain Angie's blood and Gonzalez's DNA. Phone records revealed that Gonzalez continued to text Angie for hours after disposing of her belongings, attempting to cover his tracks.
Gonzalez was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence. He later pleaded guilty to the murder of Angie Saucedo and was sentenced to 50 years in prison. The motive for the murder was not disclosed, and Gonzalez had no prior criminal history. Angie's family expressed their grief and the impact her death had on them, stating that no sentence would be enough for what Gonzalez had done. The case was investigated by the Irving and College Station Police Departments, along with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.
