On November 22, 2021, the College Station Police Department responded to a welfare concern call at a Motel 6 located on Texas Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of Susan Love Droste, an 85-year-old Caucasian woman from South Carolina, and Edgar Louis Hoch Jr., an 81-year-old man from Texas.
