Elijah Valencia-Garcia, a 3-year-old Hispanic boy, tragically lost his life on October 9, 2020, in Houston, Texas. Elijah was killed by his mother's boyfriend, Ariel Esau Lujan, during a domestic violence incident. Lujan broke into the home on Almeda-Genoa with an assault rifle and opened fire, fatally striking Elijah and wounding his pregnant mother, Veronica Valencia. Veronica survived the attack, but Elijah did not.
