Darren Wynn Baker, a 31-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, was fatally shot on November 14, 2020, outside an apartment complex on the Northwest Side of San Antonio. According to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office, Baker was shot multiple times in the torso and later pronounced dead at University Hospital. The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of Bandera Road.
The medical examiner's office determined the manner of death to be homicide.
San Antonio police reported that multiple shell casings were found near the scene, and projectiles hit several parked cars and the apartment building. Despite an extensive investigation, no witnesses were immediately found, and a suspect had not been identified as of the following Tuesday. The police believed Baker might have been an unintended victim. The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
