was involved in a fatal shooting incident in the 2300 block of 39th Street in Lubbock. The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. and was the result of a dispute between Michael and 20-year-old Isaiah Guartuche. According to witnesses, the altercation began when Michael confronted Guartuche for pushing a woman in the face. The confrontation escalated, and Guartuche, feeling threatened, pulled out a firearm and shot Michael three times in the chest. Michael was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Isaiah Guartuche was identified as the suspect in the shooting and was arrested later that day by officers from the Texas Anti-Gang Center. He was charged with murder and held in the Lubbock County Jail on a $300,000 bond. The investigation revealed that Guartuche admitted to shooting Michael but claimed he was afraid of him. However, it was noted that Michael did not make any threats to Guartuche's life or cause serious bodily injury, and he was not armed at the time of the incident.
