On December 25, 2020, Kisha Brown-Garcia, a 24-year-old woman, was fatally shot at a restaurant in southwest Houston. The incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. when officers responded to a shooting call at the establishment located on Bissonnet Street. Upon arrival, they found Kisha Brown-Garcia and a 26-year-old man, Pablo Martinez, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Kisha was pronounced dead at the scene, while Pablo was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
