On January 1, 2021, Messiah Dewayne Taplin, a four-year-old boy from Arlington, Texas, tragically lost his life after being shot in the head at an apartment complex. The incident occurred just after midnight as people were celebrating the New Year. Messiah was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as the victim.
