Russell Jones, a 21-year-old male from Amarillo, Texas, tragically passed away on March 16, 2021. He was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body at the Country Club Villas apartment complex and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Amarillo Police Department's Homicide Unit was called in to investigate the incident.

Following the shooting, witnesses reported seeing two vehicles leaving the scene. The suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Joshua Nelson, called 911 and reported that ...
