Shaneen Corrina Smith Romero, a 39-year-old woman of African American ethnicity from Corsicana, Texas, tragically passed away on March 27, 2021. Shaneen was born on November 26, 1981, and was well-known in her community for her involvement in various activities during her school years, including being a member of the cheerleading squad and homecoming court at Corsicana High School.
She later pursued a career in vocational nursing and worked at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX, as well as Rescare, Inc., and Envoy Hospice.
Shaneen's death was the result of a violent incident involving her brother, Justin Shavora. On the day of her death, Shaneen was chased by Justin, who had allegedly shot her sister outside a funeral home. Shaneen was found by a Corsicana Police Department officer, who used his vehicle to shield her before she was pronounced dead shortly after. Justin Shavora was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was arraigned on March 29, 2021, and his bond was set at $700,000.
