On May 25, 2021, the body of Michael Brown, a 27-year-old African American male, was discovered in a residence located at 16502 Quail Prairie Drive in Missouri City, Texas. Officers from the Houston Police Department were escorting a woman, who had recently been a kidnapping victim, to her home when they noticed a suspicious tarp inside the house. Upon inspection, they found Brown's body wrapped inside the tarp, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene
